Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan
Last week, Premier Scott Moe and Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab announced the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan. The plan introduces five phases to methodically, gradually and cautiously re-open businesses and services across Saskatchewan, beginning May 4, 2020.
Casinos are included in phase four of the Re-open Saskatchewan Plan, which at this time has no set date for when re-opening will be permitted. This means we have no alternative but to continue to suspend operations at all SIGA facilities until phase four can be implemented or further direction comes from government.
It’s important to be clear that we anticipate a gradual scale-up of operations, which will be based on demand, understanding that the strength of the economy will impact our business model. Our re-opening will also come with necessary changes to ensure adherence to physical distancing measures and other ongoing government restrictions. These changes are to protect the health and safety of you, our teammates, our guests and the communities in which we operate. We will provide more information to you as this situation develops and we get closer to a possible resumption date.
Please be assured that our Board and leadership are working diligently to manage this situation as effectively as possible so we can get our business back up and running as quickly as is reasonably possible.
